In this Month’s episode of WaxWorks on Black Rhino Radio, I am visited by the Australian rapper The Tongue for a talk and an introduction into hip hop from down under.
Tune in to hear the story of how The Tongue went from freestyle battle rapping to being signed and releasing his first tracks, working with producers from the UK and even performing in Cambodia to now having started to DJ.
He will also give the listeners an introduction into the Australian hiphop scene with tracks from and stories about artists like Astronomy Class, Delta, Hermitude and Resin Dogs.
The Tongue is an Australian rapper and DJ, who became known when he won the Battle 4 Supremacy and Revolver MC freestyle battle competitions, which led to him being signed and releasing his first album on Elefant Traks in 2006.
Since then he has released several albums and even a Greatest Hits compilation in 2022 and has toured and played many major Australian festivals and also been the back up rapper for the group Astronomy Class.
As a rapper he has worked with the likes of Gift Of Gab, Braintax, Dudley Perkins, Georgia Ann-Muldrow, DJ Diaz, Ozi Batla, Much & Plutonic, Bag Raiders and many more. In 2021 he became a professional DJ playing under the moniker DJ Xolo.
